Newcastle United are already pursuing their second summer transfer signing after clinching the deal to bring young goalkeeper Ewen Jaouen to the club. The Magpies completed the signing of the French Under-21 goalkeeper on Wednesday and now have their targets set on other areas of the squad. With Anthony Gordon already sold to Barcelona, Newcastle will face interest for Italian midfielder Sandro Tonali, while there could be plenty of other exits as room is made for new arrivals. Goalkeepers Nick Pope and Odysseas Vlachodimos have been linked with moves away, as United eye another shot-stopper, while they are also on the lookout for defensive cover, a new goalscorer and wide options. Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer feels it's wrong for England to pin all their hopes on Harry Kane for this summer's World Cup. He told Betfair: England have to go deep into the tournament if Kane wants to go close for the Ballon d'Or. Clearly, it wouldn't help him if England were to get knocked out pretty early and one of the other big hitters, for example, Dembélé, went on to score for France, take them all the way to the final, put in a huge performance, and win it. That clearly wouldn't help Kane. But he's one of the favourites for a reason, and we're all hopeful that if England are going to go deep into the tournament, he will play a major part in that. I firmly believe he will. I think Kane's ability to drop deep does give England an edge. Thomas has managed Harry before, so he knows how he operates, how he works, and how to get the best out of him. We've seen that all season at Bayern Munich, haven't we? So, we have got those players. I know it's maybe not fair or right to say all our chances hinge on him, but it's a major factor. If England are going to get deep into this competition, he's going to have to perform really well and score goals for us. That also means other players getting past him when he comes deep, because it's a huge part of his game that he needs people going beyond him. I think that's one of the things we lacked two years ago, or that he lacked, as I'm not sure he was fully fit. We lacked that game knowledge where players weren't really going past him. If England are going to win this thing, or get to a final or semi-final, he'll have to play a big part, and other players will need to know how to play off him. Victor Munoz is understood to be happy with the salary on offer at #NUFC and impressed by the project. It's all about Osasuna and their price and the bid now. Formal talks continuing with Spain and Munoz preparing for Monday's World Cup clash with Cape Verde. In an ideal world, it would be done before Spain gets underway. Newcastle still like Victor Munoz but we're told there has been no official bid despite reports. Discussion on prices? Yes. But the reality is he has a £34.5m release clause and that is yet to be triggered. Claims from Europe now that Newcastle have gone as far as putting a bid in for Victor Munoz. The talk
