Newcastle United's attacker Anthony Gordon has been at the center of transfer speculation, but his agent reportedly held no negotiations with Bayern Munich last week. This development comes amidst ongoing interest from the German giants, who are exploring various options for their squad. The Magpies are under pressure to balance their books, potentially needing to offload players this summer.

The 25-year-old winger has made 46 appearances under Eddie Howe this season, contributing 17 goals and five assists. A significant portion of his output, ten goals, came in the Champions League before Newcastle United exited to Barcelona. Domestically, his Premier League form has been less impactful, with only six league goals, and he was even booed by fans after an error in their 3-2 defeat to Everton.

Bayern Munich has shown considerable interest in Anthony Gordon, viewing him as a potential long-term successor to Luis Diaz. The Bundesliga heavyweights made initial contact with the Englishman's agent earlier this month. Their strategy reportedly involved aiming to agree personal terms with Gordon first, hoping to use the player's desire to join the Allianz Arena as leverage to lower Newcastle United's asking price.

Despite these reports, German journalist Florian Plettenberg confirmed that "no negotiations" took place with Gordon's agent at Sabener Strasse last week. Bayern Munich is reportedly keeping alternative targets lined up, should the Magpies' reported £75 million valuation for their star prove too expensive.

Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany is understood to be a keen admirer of the English winger and has sanctioned a potential move to Germany. However, the Bavarians remain unwilling to meet Newcastle United's significant asking price. The England international is widely tipped to depart by the summer, with Liverpool having previously shown interest, though Bayern currently leads the chase.
