Newcastle United have had four of their Premier League fixtures over the festive period rescheduled for live television broadcast. The club confirmed the new kick-off times, which affect games against Manchester City, Nottingham Forest, Chelsea and Manchester United.

Eddie Howe's side, currently ninth in the table with five points from three games, will now host Manchester City at St James' Park on Boxing Day, Saturday 26 December, with an 8pm start. Their final home game of 2026 against Nottingham Forest on Wednesday 30 December has been moved to a 7:30pm kick-off.

New Year schedule

The new year begins with a trip to Chelsea on Saturday 3 January, a 2pm start in London.

All four matches will be shown live on Sky Sports. The Premier League's broadcast selections for the November match rounds are due the week of 21 September, with December picks following in the week of 19 October. The league mandates a minimum 60-hour rest period between games for all clubs during the congested Christmas and New Year schedule.

This news comes as Newcastle prepare for their next league match away to Leeds United this Saturday. The team is on an unbeaten run of five matches in all competitions, with their last outing a 1-0 win at Millwall. Key players like Dan Burn and Joelinton remain sidelined, but the squad's recent form of three wins and two draws provides a solid platform ahead of this busy period. Fans can check the full upcoming schedule on the club's fixtures page and view the current standings.
